Maintenance, Janitorial Supervisor, and Transportation
Location: Chicago, IL
Pay: $19 per hour
Hours: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
Position Summary
We’re looking for a dedicated Maintenance, Janitorial Supervisor, and Transportation Specialist to oversee facility maintenance, lead a janitorial team, and provide transportation services. This role requires hands-on handyman skills in plumbing, HVAC, electrical repairs, and general maintenance, along with strong leadership and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues—coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
- Address and resolve maintenance work orders promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, tools, and supply areas.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks comply with safety regulations and building codes.
Janitorial Supervision
- Supervise and support a team of six janitors, ensuring high-quality cleaning and maintenance standards.
- Train, schedule, and provide feedback to janitorial team members.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Transportation Services
- Transport children safely from school to the center and complete additional transportation requests as needed.
- Maintain company vehicle in safe and clean condition, performing routine checks and reporting any issues.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and company policies while operating a vehicle.
Other Duties
- Perform outdoor upkeep, including snow removal, lawn care, and exterior cleanliness.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including occasional after-hours calls.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and operational standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in maintenance-related fields are a plus.
- Proven experience in building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing janitorial or maintenance teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background check, TB test, and drug screening.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various conditions (indoor, outdoor, heights, etc.).
