Position Summary

City Wide Jani is currently hiring for Janitor Floaters for Chicago Public Schools. Custodians will maintain assigned area(s) to meet customer satisfaction. Some essential functions and responsibilities include: classroom cleaning, restroom sanitation, locker/shower room cleaning, floor maintenance, carpet cleaning, trash removal and snow removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including complying with OSHA, state/local federal and City Wide regulations.

* Maintains a clean and orderly environment to protect the safety and health of others.

* Properly cleans and maintain equipment.

* Follows procedures for disposal of trash and transport to designated area.

* Report maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel.

* Secure the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required.

* Ensure security of company assets.

* Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement

* Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers.

* Other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

* Must be flexible & willing to travel (around the Chicago area -Some weekend work may be required)

* Previous custodial experience preferred

* Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling greater than 50lbs

* Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risk and exposure to hazardous chemicals

* Must be able to pass a background check

* Must be able to pass a drug test

* Must take a TB test

* Must be vaccinated or willing to get weekly tested

* Must be willing to join the union (SEIU Local 1) within 30 days
